The Wandering Pugilist

The following essay follows a community boxing event in the favela "Baixa Do Sapateiro" of the Complexo da Maré in Rio de Janeiro. The event is held by Fight for Peace, an NGO with the mission of combating youth involvement in drug trafficking through martial arts and boxing.
